Hi, I’m Dave,

Although I’ve only been living in Lafayette since March of 2023 I’m definitely not a stranger to this beautiful Wine Country we live in. I’ve been called a “City Boy” but I’m really enjoying being part of a small town.
I’m a proud father of two amazing kids that still live in the City. Mackenzie is 27 and Brady is 24. Both my kids are wonderful and I love that they still like to hang with Dad playing golf, grabbing dinner or enjoying a local winery.
Shelly, the other part of Faces of Wine Country, is my fiancé and partner for life. I enjoy her Love of Life, Caring for others, being an incredible mother and grandmother, thrill of trying something new and travel.
I opened my Insurance Agency with American Family Insurance back in 2001. It is a small but successful agency. We thrive on helping our clients with all their insurance needs and options while building long time relationships.
I believe in building communities and working together among other business owners and families. I think the Faces of Wine Country is a great way to connect the many incredible neighbors of Carlton, Dayton, Lafayette, McMinnville and Yamhill.

Meet Shelly

I have lived in beautiful wine country since 2003, but that is not where my story begins. In 1995 I received a kidney transplant at OHSU. At the time I was living in Eugene Oregon. I was instructed to stay within an hour from OHSU for 30 days after the transplant. I ended up staying in a motorhome behind the historic house in Lafayette. Back then it was a Bed and Breakfast that hosted short term campers in the back. In 2003 I bought a house in Lafayette, and I’ve been here since. Sometimes life comes full circle, and that kidney transplant is almost 30 years old!

My daughter in an ER Nurse in McMinnville. She has given me two amazing grandchildren. We spend a lot of time together and we love adventures. I also have a step-daughter in Eugene, she has a three year old son. On top of that I raised my nephews for 10 years. All the kids have attended schools in Lafayette and McMinnville. I have spent years attending sporting events at Joe Dancer Park and McMinnville Schools. Now I get to start over with the grandkids.

Dave and I have an amazing life and keep a full calendar between spending time with our kids, traveling, golfing, pickleball, work and home. We love concerts, we attended over 10 the first year we started dating! We keep each youngish and happy.

I have been a bookkeeper for over 30 years and now own Insight Bookkeeping. I love learning about new businesses and have a passion for teaching business owners how to read their financial reports and project business income and expenses.

In my spare time, if there is any, I am an aspiring metalsmith, an accomplished gardener, a gatherer of friends. I am passionate about the Faces of Wine Country. I believe in community and a time that seems to be falling away from us. I hope that this project brings us closer. We live in such a beautiful part of the country with so many amazing neighbors. I can’t wait to meet you!
